NIVREL designs and manufactures sophisticated mechanical watches in its own workshops in Germany using the finest materials from Germany and Switzerland. NIVREL offers strong, balanced designs and attentive customer service in select watch and jewellery stores worldwide. The brand combines the best techniques with discreet but elegant design. Unlike most well-known brands in the industry, the company behind NIVREL (the Gerd Hofer GmbH) is still a family business with a close relationship with its customers.
NIVREL offers almost everything in mechanical watches that the heart desires. The production principle makes it possible to provide the different product types and ranges in almost innumerable variations. The company is thus able to respond to individual wishes of customers, unlike many other brands.
The collection (Edition) Héritage is a symbol for the new beginning of NIVREL in 1993 in Saarbruecken, after the brand had been founded in Switzerland in 1936. Owner Gerd Hofer (from the Kraemer / Hofer family of goldsmiths and jewelers in Saarbruecken) designed various models in the early years, all of which followed the same basic pattern and design. Common to all, for example, are the straight lugs of the cases, the Clous de Paris pattern on the dial, and the blued steel hands. Even today, the Héritage models have an important place within the collection.
The Edition Replique focuses on the history of the brand. These watches breathe new life into historical models of the NIVREL brand. Gerd Hofer made the beginning in 1994 with the reference N 515.001 as a homage to a NIVREL chronograph from the 1940s. The “new” watch was equipped with a very special movement: the Lemania chronograph caliber 1873 with manual winding.
Since 2004 NIVREL presents diving watches in the collection. The first model ‘Deep Sea’ was a great success and since then NIVREL has its own small collection line of diving watches, the Edition Plongeur.
Flagship of the NIVREL product range is the Edition Pièce Unique. It contains the watches that were particularly close to the heart of company founder Gerd Hofer. By combining high-quality mechanics with his actual profession of goldsmithing, he created watches that are both timepieces and pieces of jewellery. The materials and craftsmanship techniques used know no bounds. From engraved or skeletonized gold plates, the use of completely engraved movement module assemblies, to paintings on sapphire crystal, to the use of engraved layer stones and rock crystals, almost all potential possibilities have now been realized.
