For over 100 years, the Martin Guthmann manufactory has been producing well-made gold and silver jewellery with great attention to detail. With great enthusiasm and inventiveness, collections are developed that meet the demands of connoisseurs while remaining affordable for every jewellery lover.
The emotional pieces are still created by hand and in sustainable small series production in the gold city of Pforzheim. Historical manufacturing techniques such as fire enamel, sand casting, hand engraving, as well as recycled gold and silver, cultured pearls, camées and genuine gemstones are used.
Christian Guthmann is the fourth generation to run the company. Rolled, stamped, drawn and cast parts are assembled by hand. Traditional jewellery themes are reinterpreted. By using old tool models, partial casts, with skilful use of historical techniques such as sand casting, hand engraving, fire enamelling, completely new concepts and contemporary jewellery design are created.
Martin Guthmann also demonstrates world-class social and environmental standards. Only recycled precious metal from Allgemeine Gold- und Silberscheideanstalt Pforzheim, which has committed itself to the ethical goals of the Responsible Jewellery Council, is processed. Martin Guthmann’s production works largely with a closed water cycle. Waste water is strictly controlled and treated in-house beforehand. Problematic materials are collected and disposed of by specialized companies. Waste separation and economical use of paper are a matter of course. Outer packaging and displays can be fully recycled.
