100 years Anniversary of the Permanent Sample Exhibition (Ständige Musterausstellung)

On February 23, 1921, the “Permanent Sample Exhibition of the Jewellery and Watch Industry and Related Industries” was founded as an information centre and meeting place for trade buyers. The exhibiting companies of this first Pforzheim trade fair and marketing community still come from all over Germany. For the past ten years, the successor to the “Ständige” has been DEUTSCHE SCHMUCK UND UHREN GmbH, a subsidiary of the German Association of Jewellery, Watches, Silverware and Supplying Industry.

The change from a pure sample exhibition for specialized buyers, to a combination of showroom and sales centre for everyone, was successfully completed with the construction of the Schmuckwelten (Jewellery world) Pforzheim by the Sparkasse Pforzheim-Calw bank in 2005. DEUTSCHE SCHMUCK UND UHREN is, on the one hand, the service company of the federal association, a representative office and information centre as well as a link between the industry, the retail trade and the end consumer. On the other hand, on the second floor of the Schmuckwelten, the high qualitative and aesthetic level of German jewellery and watch manufactories is presented to a broad public and offered for sale.

For the 100th anniversary, Deutsche Schmuck und Uhren has compiled an exhibition catalog that impressively presents the range of German jewelry and watch production on more than 170 pages. Please find the entire press release in attached download.

Das neue Design08 von Otto Hutt: Pull+Twist!

The new Design08 from Otto Hutt is out! Designer Mark Braun gave the writing instrument a unique look with the allover guilloche. A coating with the rare precious metal ruthenium gives the writing instruments optical depth and a very special feel. The eye glides over the even lines, and the desire to trace them arises in the fingers.

Pull+Twist™ is unique

On the rotating cylindrical heel, the guilloche is rotated 90°: thus the design gives a hint of the direction of rotation to operate the Pull+Twist™ function. A twisting motion fills the ink chamber, and a final twist of the barrel end locks the mechanism in place. A perfect interplay of design and function.

For those in a hurry

Alternatively, design08 will soon be available as a rollerball pen. Here, the longitudinally guilloched heel is used to change the rollerball refill. The rollerball pen’s stainless steel grip is also designed to be particularly easy on the hand. It is made of stainless steel and coated in matte black PVD.

September 2021: Vicenzaoro with German participation

From September 10 to 14, the international jewellery fair Vicenzaoro, organized by the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), will be held again as a presence event after a forced break by Corona.

After almost a year of standstill, the halls of Vicenza Expo will come back to life. At last, participants along the entire supply chain can renew their contacts to do business. The September edition of Vicenzaoro looks forward to welcoming buyers from around the world. The progress in vaccination campaigns, especially in Europe and Middle Eastern countries, and the decreased incidence figures make it possible. The international VOS showcase at Vicenzaoro will present products made with the highest know-how and latest technological capabilities. Renowned jewelry brands celebrate their return. But they will not only show their novelties there: “The Jewellery Golden Cloud”, the interactive business matching tool of IEG, allows a digital presentation at the same time. VOS also takes an in-depth look at style and design trends, analyses developments and shows the state of the art in the industry. Some of these events are broadcast live online to the world. Safety is paramount at every moment and in every aspect of Vicenzaoro: IEG is the first exhibition and congress organizer in Italy to receive STAR accreditation from the Global Biorisk Adisory Council (GBAC) for all its venues. The global certification program sets the highest standards for facilities and staff in cleanliness, disinfection and infectious disease prevention.

Positive signs for INHORGENTA MUNICH 2022

After INHORGENTA MUNICH had to be cancelled last spring due to a pandemic, Messe München is now optimistic about the coming year. The announcement from politicians that attendance fairs will be possible again as of September 2021 is causing confidence among those responsible and exhibitors. Well-known jewellery and watch manufacturers have already confirmed their participation at an early stage. INHORGENTA MUNICH will take place from February 11 to 14, 2022 at the Munich exhibition centre.

Klaus Dittrich, Chairman and CEO of Messe München, expresses his relief at the positive signals from politics: “This decision now gives us and our customers the necessary planning security for INHORGENTA MUNICH. With our protection and hygiene concept, we are very well prepared. We are also very confident about the relaxation of travel restrictions and the increasing vaccination rate. We sense a great interest in the industry to meet in person on site.”

Commitments from renowned exhibitors have been received

Around eight months before the start of INHORGENTA MUNICH, a large number of jewellery and watch manufacturers have already confirmed their participation. Among others, the following companies will present innovations and trends in Munich: Citizen, Gellner, Hans D. Krieger as well as Jochen Pohl and Parmigiani.

Christian Sieg, Managing Director of Parmigiani, is optimistic about February 2022: “As the home of our European headquarters is Munich, we are of course also looking forward to a home game and will present exclusive innovations here.”

Early bird discount for exhibitors until the end of June 2021

Companies that decide to participate in INHORGENTA MUNICH 2022 by June 30 will receive a discount on their booking. Elena Jasper, Project Manager INHORGENTA MUNICH, is happy about the current developments: “The positive omens make us highly motivated to continue planning the trade show.
